The Gasteinertal, Walking &am...

The Gastein valley boasts more than 350 km of marked walking paths. The degree of difficulty ranges from family friendly to high alpine adventure. Most are well signposted and along the way a mix of traditional style alpine huts, guest houses and mountain restaurants are waiting to provide some well deserved refreshment.

The beauty of walking in the alps is that you don’t necessarily have to walk up the mountain to get a taste of that high altitude alpine air but can choose to take a ski lift to the top instead. From there the walking can be sheer pleasure. In fact you could simply roll back down if you wanted. Although, that might not be advisable!
