The stunning Aravis Mountains are a hiker’s paradise. Walkers and ramblers are treated to over 90 kilometers of marked walking routes that pass through some of France’s most idyllic mountain scenery. One of the regions classics, “Le Bélier des Aravis trail” – according to the local tourist office – requires between 6 to 8 hours to complete. However, it is possible to bite off smaller sections at a time. There are of course numerous other designated routes of much shorter duration to choose from. It is possible to walk in La Clusaz in both summer and winter and although access to the mountain by lift was not possible in the past, it is now due to the pressures of mountain bike tourism. Good or bad? You decide!
