Gressoney, Walking & Hiking

The vast Monte Rosa Massif provides hikers with a seemingly endless number of walking routes. From strenuous ascents of 4000 plus meter peaks to leisurely descents through tranquil pine forests, hikers, ramblers and mountaineers are simply spoiled for choice.

Beyond the marked walking routes of which there is a considerable number in the region, there are even more self navigated itineraries waiting to be explored. The local guides offer services to those looking for something a little more adventurous. The main highlight is of course, the Tour de Monte Rosa, a multi-day trek that passes through several popular resorts including Alagna and Champoluc in Italy and Saas Fee and Zermatt in Switzerland. It’s a tour ranked up there with the best of them including the Matterhorn Tour which is possible to tap into from Zermatt.
