Situated at one end of the village the beginners slopes of Saas Fee have a fantastically shallow gradient and are also very wide. Newcomers should be able to progress quickly moving up the mountain onto the longer blue runs that wind their way down via tree lined pistes and ski weg’s – the narrow tracks that are sometimes referred to as “bunny runs”.

Intermediate riders will enjoy the varied terrain on offer in Saas Fee. From wide well groomed cruising pistes to steep and bumpy slopes that demand greater attention and technical ability. At Saas Fee there are real thigh burning top to bottom challenges with a vertical drop of 1700 meters (5577 feet) and a longest run of 9 kilometers from the top of Mittelallallin. There are several route options for such a challenge and some comprise a mix a blue and red pistes although a miscalculation or wrong turning could see riders forced to take on a black piste. Interesting!

Saas Fee offers advanced riders a good number of on-piste challenges but by far the most intriguing factor is the opportunity to experience some of the numerous off-piste and touring routes of the region. Within the resort ski domain itself there are some limited areas of off-piste. The Fee Glacier should be avoided unless you are with guide as it is heavily crevassed and, well treacherous.
