Davos, Switzerland

The upmarket lakeside resort of Davos has become famous for hosting several international summits. And indeed Davos does in fact market itself as an international congress centre. However, life isn’t necessarily all about business! No, Davos is in fact primarily a place to play.

The resort shares its ski slopes with neighbouring Klosters which in winter is famous for attracting high profile clientele such as members of the British Royal family. In summer those same slopes are host to hikers, bikers and golfers and no doubt the occasional disorientated diplomat.

As you would expect with such a bustling centre, Davos offers a range of accommodation for all budgets and supports a large number of bars and restaurants. If you’re planning a trip here then we advise you avoid those times when the resort is hosting major international events.

For those who prefer not to drive while on tour they’ll be glad to know that it is possible to reach Davos by rail.
