Spain, Windsurfing & Kitesurfing

Spain’s vast coastline provides a virtually inexhaustible list of potential windsurfing and kitesurfing locations. Thankfully it also provides the exact location for Europe’s most famous windsurfing spot, Tarifa. Tarifa however, is not alone in Spain as Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands and some of its other neighbours also experience outstanding conditions for both windsurfing and kitesurfing. While on the Mediterranean coast the Bay of Roses in Catalunya and Mar Menor in Murcia prove popular destinations also, although conditions here are likely to be much tamer with a mid Force 4 being the average afternoon wind speed.

Cantabria in the north west of Spain has also been known to get some enviable wind conditions although here things tend to blow much more off-shore and as a result the conditions favour surfers rather than wind or kite surfers.
