Canadian Mountain Holidays, a heli-hiking company, has teamed up with Banff Rocky Mountain Resort based in Canada's Banff National Park.

Together they have created a six-day family adventure holiday in the Rocky Mountains, complete with helicopters and whitewater rafting.

Holidaymakers can walk by the Bow River, look out over Banff from the top of Tunnel Mountain, and rent bikes to see the local sights.

"Explore alpine glaciers, emerald lakes, soft meadows carpeted with wildflowers and mountain ridges overlooking impressive panoramas," said a spokesman for Canadian Mountain Holidays.

Children can choose to remain at the resort and participate in crafts and games, or spend time in the indoor pool or on the tennis courts.

Each lodge offers a pool, a climbing wall, a games room, a sauna and a relaxation massage service.

Climbers may be interested to know that Banff is a short trip to the mountain areas of Lake Louise, Kananaskis Country and Canmore.
