As snowboarding's Burton US Open approaches, organisers have released this year's event schedule.

Competitive rounds begin on Tuesday March 18th with the men's Halfpipe pre-qualifiers and qualifiers.

Wednesday 19th will see the men's Slopestyle pre-qualifiers get underway, while Thursday 20th has been reserved for both men's and women's Slopestyle qualifiers and the women's Halfpipe qualifiers.

Friday March 21st is the date scheduled for the first final of the week, with the men's and women's Slopestyle semi-finals and finals scheduled planned for the same day.

The men's and women's Halfpipe semi-finals and finals will be events to remember on the Saturday, with the men's and women's big air competition rounding off the adult events.

Sunday is Junior Jam day, with girl's and boy's practices, finals and awards all taking place.

In other snowboarding news, the Denver Post reports that Riley Gessele and Shannon Yates, both of the US, won the snowboard section of the 2008 Stihl Colorado Freeride Championships.
