Austria's Bernadette Schild has won the slalom at the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships at Formigal in Spain.

Schild led after the first run and with a two-run combined time of 1:33.85 she skied to a safe victory, just beating Switzerland's Celina Hangl into second place. In third was France's Nastasia Noens.

In the men's super-G, Germany's Andreas Sander was victorious thanks to a time of 1:21.02 seconds, beating two Austrians - Matthias Maier and Bjoern Sieber - into second and third place respectively.

A week of sunny and bright weather was spoiled by rain and heavy fog but this did not deter the young snow sports enthusiasts from enjoying the day.

Earlier on in the junior championships, Norway claimed a double victory, with Hans Christer Holund claiming gold in the men's race and Therese Johaug proving victorious in the ladies' event.
