Janne Ahonen has completed a memorable double, winning his second event on home soil in the e.on Ruhrgas FIS World Ski Jumping in Kuopio, Finland, on Tuesday.

Ahonen finished a comfortable 7.9 points ahead of closest competitor Anders Bardal of Norway.

After the event, Ahonen told reporters: "I'm very satisfied with my jumps and the victory."

"The snowfall made jumping a bit difficult but sometimes I like to jump on difficult circumstances."

This win takes Ahonen to second place overall in the Nordic Tournament with a score of 378.7, just 0.2 points off leader Janne Happonen's 378.9.

The tournament continues in Lillehammer, Norway this Friday.

Nicknamed the Flying Eagle, Ahonen has won the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships twice - in 1997 and 2005.
