It has been confirmed that a total of 28 competitions are due to take place at the FIS Grand Finals, starting Wednesday.

More than 700 athletes will gather at three venues and all of them will be coveting the 19 crystal globes, as well as the silver and bronze medals.

In alpine skiing, 70 men and 65 ladies have signed up, while 94 men and 75 ladies will compete in cross-country skiing. In addition, a total of 429 athletes have been accredited to compete in the freestyle and snowboard events.

The World Cup award ceremony will be held in Bormio, Italy, which is a mountain town at the foot of Passo Stelvio, one of the most challenging downhills on the World Cup.

Bormio boasts 50 km of marked ski runs, the longest of which is 6 km, 14 lifts and several ski schools. It hosted the Alpine World Skiing Championships in 1985 and 2005.
